Solid masonry walls generally provide the strongest support. Plasterboard walls may still be suitable depending on the wall structure and fixing method used, although additional support or stud fixing may sometimes be recommended for heavier basin setups.

For basin cut-outs and plumbing openings, suitable sealing should always be used around exposed areas to help prevent moisture penetration into the timber.

Sink Shelf Care and Maintenance

Sink shelves require very little ongoing maintenance once installed correctly and properly sealed. Regular cleaning with a soft cloth will help remove excess moisture and everyday marks. Standing water should not be left on the timber surface for extended periods, particularly around basin edges or cut-outs.

Shelves finished with oils or waxes may occasionally benefit from maintenance to help preserve the finish and moisture resistance over time.
