Shou Sugi Ban Technique

This product features the traditional technique of Shou Sugi Ban (焼杉板), also known as Yakisugi, developed by Japanese carpenters in the 18th century. Originally used to treat Japanese cedar, or "Sugi," for construction purposes, this method has since spread throughout Western Japan, where its exceptional longevity has made it a popular choice for building charred wood cladding and fences.

Ideal in every aspect. Charred wood adds aesthetic appeal and practical advantages that are rare in traditional timber. It is particularly well-suited for bathrooms and kitchens due to its water-resistant surface and exceptional resistance to decay in humid conditions.
