These live edge wood table tops are made from full-depth hardwood rather than veneers or engineered boards. This ultimately makes them stronger, last longer, and, in our opinion, look far better than your average table.
Handmade in our Yorkshire workshop, our live edge table tops are carefully crafted to ensure a flat, stable, and perfectly finished surface. Unlike wood alternatives, these are live edge wood table tops that can be sanded, refinished, and restored throughout their lifetime, allowing them to last a lifetime, and some.
All of our oak wood table tops have an organic feel, as the live edge outlines the original tree, with consistent thickness and long-term stability. We finish the table tops using high-quality oils and hardwax coatings that protect the surface while allowing the timber to breathe and retain its natural feel.
Sustainability is at the heart of what we do, which is why we only ever use responsibly sourced oak from England and France. With simple care, including occasional re-oiling and gentle cleaning, your wood table tops will remain beautiful and functional for many years.
Live Edge Table Tops
FAQ's
How do you maintain live edge table tops?
Day-to-day, we recommend using a natural cleaner or using a soft cloth with warm water and mild soap. Avoid harsh cleaners to protect the finish on your live edge table tops. You can also oil or wax our table tops every 3–6 months to keep the wood hydrated.
How are live edge table tops made?
Our live edge wood table tops are created by selecting, drying, and surfacing sustainably sourced wood slabs, while keeping the original, raw tree edge intact. The process involves removing bark, flattening the surface with a router sled or planer, filling cracks with epoxy, sanding, and applying a protective finish.
What type of wood is used on a live edge table top?
We offer English or French oak live edge wood table tops, made from high quality and sustainably sourced wood.
Can I customise my live edge table top?
Yes, we do lots of bespoke-sized furniture, and customising your live edge table top is something we can do. Get in touch with us, and we will be happy to help.
