Sawn French Oak - Unedged Character Grade

Traditional Beams deal with some of the best oak sawmills in France, we have access to some truly fantastic quality kiln dried oak boards. We generally hold stocks of 27mm, 41mm and 54mm in character grade.

QB1 grade explained (character grade): Grain may be slightly angled to logs' axis, 1 sound knot max 20mm diameter per 2m, heart shake permitted but must give rise to volume reduction, Not admitted; curly grain, enclosed sapwood, spiral grain and through bark pocket.

Please Note: It is to be expected that rough sawn boards will display signs of watermarking due to the kiln drying process. This completely natural process occurs as the water dries out from the timber. This natural surface marking, along with any stick marks, will be removed when you plane and/or sand the boards.
