2020 has been a year to remember. And that’s a polite way of putting it. For many of us, the festive season can’t come quickly enough. We’ve never needed twinkling fairy lights and sparkly tinsel more. So, if you needed an excuse, here’s why you should start getting your present shopping progressing and those Christmas decorations dangling a little earlier this year.

  1. Christmas delivery deadlines are likely to be sooner this year

Normally, we would expect cut-off dates for orders before Christmas to be around mid to end of December, depending on the shop. However, with more of us than ever before likely to do our shopping online this year and delivery times possibly taking a little longer, you’re going to need to plan ahead.

Here at Traditional Beams, we are planning for our Christmas ordering deadline for deliveries of products such as our fireplace mantels and oak floating shelves, to be around the end of November. No doubt other businesses will be making similar plans.

So it’s a good idea to get your Christmas shopping done a little sooner this year.

  1. You’ll have more time to enjoy your decorations

There’s nothing more cheerful than a sparkling Christmas tree and a fireplace mantel festooned with fairy lights. We all need a little ‘lift’ this year and there’s nothing wrong with getting those decorations up a little earlier than normal. In fact, we heartily recommend it, so you have more time to be surrounded by jolly Christmas decorations.

If you already have an oak fireplace beam, now is the time to get decorating. Put on some merry music, grab yourself a glass of mulled wine and start creating your very own stunning seasonal display. If you’re looking for inspiration, we’ll be putting up some pictures showing what some of our customers have done in the next few weeks, so keep a look out on our website! Equally, if you have created your very own winter wonderland on your oak beam, send us in a picture to help inspire others.

  1. Did you really need a third reason…?!

Fairy lights, tinsel, joyous music…Christmas really is the most wonderful time of the year. And after the year we’ve all had, making our homes sparkle in anticipation of the festive season ahead, albeit a little earlier than normal, is most definitely allowed.

So pull down those boxes of decs from the attic and start turning your home into the most uplifting, exuberant Christmas grotto you’ve ever seen. And if anyone asks why you want to decorate your house before we’ve even hit December, point them towards this post. Don’t have a fireplace mantel or an oak floating shelf to Christmas-ify yet? Get your order in soon, to make sure you have it in time for Christmas.
