We understand that choosing the colour for your oak beam and shelves can be tricky. That's why you can now purchase colour samples to help you make the decision and see how the colour looks against existing furniture in your home. Each sample is the approximate size of a business card.

 

Please use our samples as a guide only. Larger pieces may show variation in colour, grain, knots, cracks and other distinguishing features.

 

If you would prefer, please send us a high-quality photo (in natural lighting) to info@traditionalbeams.com of your existing furniture and we will do our best to help you decide which colour would be the closest match.

I'm unsure if I want oak or pine, do I need samples for both?

Yes, even if the colour finish name is the same, finishes can appear different when applied to different species of wood.

How accurate are the samples?

The samples can only be used as a guide only. As wood is a natural material, natural variation can be expected.

How big are the samples?

Samples are approximately the size of a business card.

What wood are the samples made from?

We have 2 colour sample listings. Oak and Pine. The names of the finishes (such as walnut) are the name of the finish we use, not the species of wood it is applied on.

Can I get samples for worktops?

If you are looking for a more specific finish or lacquered finish, get in touch and we will do our best to help.

How are the finishes achieved?

Our finishes are made from a variety of wood stains with a durable wax finish on top with the exception of danish oil.
