Traditional Beams Terms and Conditions.

Sale of goods

By purchasing from Traditional Beams Ltd (company no. 09704108) you are agreeing in full to our terms and conditions outlined below. Each order by the customer from Traditional Beams Ltd is deemed an offer by the customer to buy goods subject to these conditions. If you require further details please contact us for clarification.

Prices & Payment

Traditional Beams Ltd reserves the right to revise prices and change details without notice. We will not change a price after a written order acknowledgement confirmation has been received.


We reserve the right to cancel an order if a product has been listed with an incorrect price or detail due to human error.


We will not accept an order until funds have been received in full. Once payment is received, we will confirm your order by way of written order confirmation by e-mail. Our acceptance of your order will create a legally binding contract between us. Items are subject to availability, we reserve the right not to supply customers at our discretion.

Promotions

From time to time we may offer discount codes or put items on sale on our website. Promotions and sales can be removed from our website without prior notice. We are not obliged to honour the discount if the sale period has ended. Coupons are sometimes offered for repeat orders as a thank you for leaving a review. This coupon is to be used by the customer who left the review only (i.e not friends and family) and is also restricted to one use per customer.  We have the right to request extra payment or cancel an order if a coupon code has been used incorrectly.

Credit & Debit Card Payments

All prices are shown in British Pounds Sterling inclusive of VAT. All major credit and debit cards are accepted online as well as payment over the phone. We also accept PayPal payments and bank transfer payments. The same price is charged regardless of payment method. No credit or debit card details will be stored.

Cancellations

We are governed by the Consumer Protection (Distance Selling) Regulations 2000. If you change your mind for whatever reason you’re welcome to cancel your order. However, this does not apply for bespoke ‘made to measure’ items. This includes all dining tables and bespoke furniture, worktops, window sills and basin shelves. Once manufacturing has started on a bespoke order it cannot be cancelled or amended. Under the Consumer Contracts Regulations 2014, a customer is allowed to return an item if they simply change their mind. A customer has the right to cancel at any time from the moment they place their online order, and up to 14 days from the day they receive the goods. The customer then has a further 14 days from the date they notify the retailer of their cancellation to return the goods. -There are exemptions to online returns which include tailor made/personalised goods.

Dispatch Time & Delivery

Our workshop is run very efficiently which usually results in fast despatch times. Please be aware that our dispatch times are estimates only. During busy periods dispatch time may increase. You can find our most recent estimated dispatch time in the checkout and cart and along the banner on our homepage. Please note that these dispatch times do not apply to bespoke orders.


We use a number of different courier partners in order to offer you the best possible service. We offer Free delivery to most of UK Mainland for items on our website. Certain areas may be subject to additional charges.


If the item has reached the attempted delivery limit (usually 3 times) the item may be returned back to us. In this event, further delivery charges may need to be paid by you. The same applies if an item is refused upon delivery, you will be liable to pay additional charges.


The service our courier partners offer is not guaranteed. We do not offer any compensation for late delivery where costs might be incurred. We strongly advise that any tradesmen are not booked until the goods have been delivered and inspected.


We instruct our couriers to receive a signature upon delivery of your item. If you are not available for delivery, they will attempt to delivery to a neighbour instead. We will not instruct the courier to leave your item safe without your direct request. You can request this service at your own risk and Traditional Beams Ltd accepts no responsibility for theft or damage due to weather.


If your item has not arrived or the tracking is not updating, please get in touch no later than a week so we can look into the delivery and if necessary start an investigation with the courier. Unfortunately we can not investigate items if we are not made aware of missing items later than a week after the delivery update. This is the only event we will be able to sort out replacements or refunds for missing items.

Returns, Replacements or Refunds

Any cancellations for beams and shelves must be confirmed via email and returned to us within 30 days of receiving delivery of the goods. You will be responsible for returning the goods (unused) in original packaging with original paperwork at your own cost. It is your duty to take reasonable care to ensure the goods are returned back to us undamaged. Full refunds will not be issued if undue care or attention has lead to damage in transit. Please note, we do not accept returns for items with bespoke requests such as cutting to length, and changing which side the fixings are positioned in. We do not accept returns for worktops, window sills and basin shelves and lacquered products.


For orders delivered with our standard couriers (currently DHL and DX) in the event that your item is delivered damaged we will replace your item at no additional cost to you, regardless of how you signed for the delivery however we must be informed of the damage via email within 14 days of receiving delivery of the goods. You will need to be available for the courier to exchange your item. This is the only event we will offer an exchange service. We will work with you and give you a number of options in order to find the best possible solution. Please note we can not offer exchanges or accept returns if the item is used or been installed.

For pallet deliveries the item/s must be inspected at the time of delivery. If anything is damaged it must be signed for as damaged. Please inform us via email immediately after receiving any damaged goods as well as signing for as damaged.


Under the Consumer Rights Act 2015, a customer has an early right to reject goods that are unsatisfactory quality, unfit for purpose or not as described, and get a full refund. This right is limited to 30 days from the date the customer took ownership of the goods. If an item is faulty and needs to be returned, the customer does not need to pay postage costs for the return of the faulty item. If a customer is asked to return an item that arrived damaged, not as described or faulty, the retailer should refund the total cost of the return.

Natural Product

The photo’s throughout the website are for display only and will not be the actual product you will receive unless buying our ready to go furniture. Although we try our best to keep the items as close to the product display images used we cannot guarantee a close match.


As oak and pine is a natural product natural colour variation between pieces is very common and something we simply cannot control. Please use colour samples as a guide only as we cannot guarantee a like for like appearance, therefore we cannot accept any responsibility for any return costs that might be incurred.


Many of our products are manufactured from air dried timber. Although our air dried timber is professionally sourced to ensure high quality we cannot guarantee certain qualities. Although timber is air dried to our North Yorkshire climate further movement can be expected once installed in your home. As timber adjusts to your room temperature the following can be expected: further cracking, splits, twists and change in colour. We cannot guarantee cracks or knots will be present as each piece of timber is different. The above is considered part of the ageing process and none of which can be guaranteed, we will only offer replacements in exceptional circumstances.


As oak fireplace beams are manufactured from air dried timber stored outside, on occasions insect infestation can occur. Whilst we do everything we can to prevent infestation such as woodworm we cannot guarantee against it. In the unlikely event this happens, Traditional Beams will not be liable for any subsequent costs as a result of this.


Kiln Dried products will also vary in terms of natural characteristics such as cracks, grain, knots and other distinguishing features. Some movement, cracking, cupping/twisting can also be expected as part of the natural characteristics of kiln dried timber.


All dimensions displayed throughout our website have a tolerance of +/- 5mm.

Installation

Traditional Beams Ltd offer advice on how to install your item correctly. Although many of our items come with brackets and fittings they may not be suitable for your application. Traditional Beams Ltd hold no responsibility if your item has been fitted incorrectly and damage or injury occurs. It is your responsibility to assess if the fittings provided are suitable for the application.


Returns will not be accepted where an item has been used or installed. We cannot accept any responsibility for the incorrect installation or damaged caused during the installation process.


In the event where an oak beam twists, cracks or splits excessively, we will only consider offering a replacement if installed within current HETAS and building regulations.
